University of Oregon Viewbook
You never get a second chance at making a lasting first impression. And for colleges looking to recruit incoming freshmen, this couldn’t be truer.
The University of Oregon’s viewbook is among the first pieces of printed exposure students have to the school and one of the touchpoints into the University and all it has to offer prior to making their decision.
When it came time to create their 2022 viewbook, the University of Oregon didn’t hesitate to reach out to Premier Press for printing guidance for the third consecutive year.
With the design of the book completed in-house, the University relies heavily on Premier Press for the execution of the viewbook including offset printing, print management, project management and direct mailing to high school seniors.
“For us, it’s an honor to do a project like this. It’s more than just printing a booklet,” shares Premier’s Account Director on the University of Oregon project, Paul Nevue. “Because it is such an important document for the University and its growth, it’s really special to be an alumnus that gets to work on projects that promote the university.”
Design Details
Given that the viewbook is a direct reflection of the University of Oregon and its premium amenities, educational experiences, and location it was important to us that Premier captures this with the quality of our finishes. Here are a few of the design details you may notice:
- Emboss on the ‘O’ in University of Oregon. To provide a premium look and feel it was important that the emboss not show through on the inside cover. To achieve this the binding has a printed sheet glued to the back of the front cover.
- Offset printing. This particular book was printed on uncoated paper and used 4 color process with UV inks throughout. UV gives a more premium feel. It’s also better for yielding bright, vivid imagery and still gives readers that natural paper feeling.
With the printing of the book wrapped up, our team is:
- direct mailing viewbooks to high school seniors
- working on viewbooks for transfer and international students
- admission booklets that we will be printing and then mailing along with acceptance letters
