Bryson Tiller Event Kit

Five years ago, Bryson Tiller caused a sensation with his debut album, Trapsoul. Today, he pays homage to the things that inspire him – baseball and music – with three live-streamed concerts called the “2021 Trapsoul World Series.” His alias, Pen Griffey, combines his love of the great MLB star and of writing music.

To promote the event, he assembled a team of homerun hitters: creative agency Elle Empire, partners Just a Regular Day and Moment House, sponsor Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey, and Premier Press.

Elle Empire had an idea for a baseball-themed “invitation,” that would look and feel like something one might get at a baseball game, and be hand-delivered to a select group of influencers. Elle knew that the team at Premier were the ones who could pull it off.

The box is major league. It’s nearly two feet high, and looks like a cross between a sports magazine/event program and a personal concession stand. Pen Griffey graces the cover in a Trapsoul baseball uniform. The box opens out in three flaps: one containing the “ticket” to the live-streamed event series with a QR code, and the other two housing “Bryson’s Baseball Essentials” – a Trapsoul jersey, a bag of Bryson’s favorite Grippo’s chips, a baseball card, and a bottle of Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey with a glass, a shaker, all the other ingredients, and a recipe for an Overdrive cocktail.

We built the box out of corrugate, wrapped it in vinyl, and 4-color printed it. The die-cut inserts that hold the swag are made from falconboard, and we used 24-point card stock for the finishing inserts. It looks slick and indestructible, and yet it’s 100% curbside recyclable.
