Gatorade Salutes Athletes With Creative Gifts

What does it take for a strong athlete to become an athletic superstar?

As inspiration for the next generation of athletes, Gatorade asked some of the country’s best-known names in sports to share their personal formulas for performance. Their answers were colorfully captured in designs for the Gx Fuel Tomorrow Collection of Gatorade bottles. To send a big thanks to the two best-in-class athletes at the heart of the campaign, Gatorade turned to the creators and makers at Premier Press to produce customized gift presentations representing their respective games.

Premier Press has built a reputation for executing challenging design assignments and cleverly configured custom packaging (you should see our library!). This project proved to be no exception.

For Las Vegas Aces player Candace Parker, widely regarded as one of the greatest WNBA players of all time by the Women’s National Basketball Association, we had a basketball hand-painted with artwork depicting her Formula for Performance. Look closely and you’ll see her mindset is one of positive energy, movement, and flow. In her words, “Left foot. Right foot. Breathe. Repeat.”

Designated hitter and right fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies, Bryce Harper’s Formula for Performance is a fusion of his disciplines. Notice the clock/arrow to represent routine, an anvil for hard work, clasped hands for teamwork, a dumbbell for exercise, bats and balls for practice, water droplets for hydration, and leaves for nutrition. The artwork was adapted and then hand-painted on baseball bats.

Both athletes received their signature Gatorade bottles in custom-fabricated, thematic presentation cases.

• Innovative packaging was required to deliver the 30-ounce bottle from Gatorade’s Gx Fuel Tomorrow Collection along with the customized gifts.
• The original artwork was provided and then adapted by the Premier creative department for its various iterations, applied and hand-painted.
• We fabricated 13” wide x  11” tall x 6” deep metal presentation cases, each fitted with an elevated shelf; a see-through acrylic tops reveals the Gatorade’s Gx hydration bottle.

This Gatorade promotion was fun, fast-tracked, and made for a happy client. Hats off to our Premier team of experts who turned all of this around in less than two weeks, ready for white glove delivery.
