Spotify RapCaviar Promotional Kit

Music. It can tell a story, convey a mood and create a vibe or feeling. It can be powerful, moving, and a statement all wrapped in one.

This is exactly what we set out to do when designing Team Epiphany’s promotional box for Spotify’s RapCaviar playlist – create a vibe that mirrored the feeling you get when you listen to the RapCaviar playlist on Spotify.

At the onset of the project, a few things were 1,000% certain. Spotify’s goals included:

  • Highlighting the RapCaviar playlist
  • Paying homage to the musical genre itself
  • Curating meaningful promotional items that enhance the listening experience

Listening to the playlist as inspiration, we brainstormed ideas for what the project could look like, the items to include, and how they would be uniquely packaged together to tell a story. We decided on the following items:

  • Comfortable desk chair
  • Branded cement catch-all tray
  • Bose headphones
  • Handmade blanket from a locally-owned small business
  • Clay hand sculptures that hold incense
  • Branded straps

Since the goal was to create a true experience for listeners, objects weren’t enough. Our creative team worked with the artist to take design elements from the logo and transformed them into branded sleeves for the headphones and a bag to hold the blanket in.

Then we took it a step further.

A printed, large, front-opening, turned edge box with gold inlay that boasted four compartments was created for the promotional items. Additionally, custom graphics for the branded wooden crate housed both the office chair and the box of promotional goodies.

And finally, the crates were delivered with white-glove treatment to specified industry professionals, DJs, artists, and creatives.
